Play ball

We went to a basketball pep-rally kidna thing, where they introduced the teams for the year, had cheerleaders and a marching band, the basketball teams were basically begging for attention - and we gave it to them! They played practice games and had slam dunk contests, there were cheerleaders and dancers and free giveaways.

AMERICAN COLLEGE SPORT = IT WAS EVERYTHING I HAD DREAMED IT WOULD BE.

It was sooooo American...like, the whole atmosphere was like a teen movie. The players were FANTASTIC, like, I mean absolutely outstanding. College sports is a big thing here, and playing college ball is a league away from playing for the NBA. The team players were mostly African American, and they were so tall it was mental. After the celebrations we went down to chat to them, and Nicolai picked out the smallest guy to go and chat to , and he was still two heads taller than me. And 'yall know I'm tall. Whoa.

They danced, and the girls team had so much swag. So so so much. There was only one white girl on the team...she didn't have a lot of swag, not gonna lie, and at the end of their dance they were like 'put yo hands together for the white girl!'. I was jumping up and down all over the place trying to get a free t-shirt, bragging about my cheerleading days and thinking about the pro-career in basketball I could have had in another life. My only setback - I'd be considered a shortarse.

You can see me and Pedro, Bridge, Annie, Felix, Liz, Nicolai, Itziar in some of the photos, I'm wearing my Northeastern Husky jumper.
